White peppercorns, a spice frequently used in European cuisine, are a much more concentrated, dense and fresh version of the powdered version. White peppercorns, produced from the seeds of the same plant as black pepper, are different in color because they are obtained by a different method. While black peppercorns are made by directly drying the same plant while it is still immature, white peppercorns are the dried version of these seeds that have been ripened for a longer time and then soaked in water and peeled.
