Syzygium aromaticum (L.)
Obtained by drying the buds of an aromatic plant, clove; it is a woody, dark-colored and pleasant-smelling spice. Clove, which is used in many dishes, especially desserts, was especially preferred in Ottoman dishes where fruits, vegetables and meat were blended together.
